Flat revenue for a quarter is noise. Flat for eighteen months is a message, and the message is almost never try harder. You are already trying hard. Somewhere in the machine a specific constraint is eating your effort, and finding it beats flailing at all five at once.

The five places growth stalls

Demand. Not enough qualified strangers hear about you. Test: if you doubled inbound leads tomorrow, could you close and deliver them? If yes, demand is your constraint. Most founders assume this one because it is the most comfortable, since the fix is marketing spend instead of self examination. Check the others before you believe it.

Conversion. Plenty of conversations, not enough closes. Test: pull your last twenty real opportunities and write the actual reason each one died. If more than a third stalled at price or went silent after a proposal, your offer or your pricing story is the leak, and more leads will just leak faster.

Capacity. You could sell more but delivery would crack. Test: would a big new client this month be great news or a quiet panic? If your stomach answered before your head, the constraint is delivery, which usually means the constraint is you doing too much of it.

Owner dependence. The subtlest one. Sales, quality, and decisions all route through you, so the company grows to the edge of your personal hours and stops exactly there. Eighteen flat months with a full calendar is this one's signature.

Focus. Three offers, two audiences, five priorities. Everything moves an inch, nothing moves a mile. Count your active initiatives. If you need two hands, this is at least part of it.

Then get outside eyes on it

Self diagnosis has a flaw: the person running the test built the machine and loves it. Every week in TRIBE I watch a founder present a plateau they have stared at for a year, and someone two stages ahead names the constraint in about ten minutes, because they recognize the shape from the inside.

Find people who have already crossed the number you are stuck under. If that search sounds familiar, it is literally why TRIBE exists.
